Hendrik Jan Visser's work is difficult to describe, may be because it is so 'easy'. His subjects are often still lifes or landscape vistas. However, he paints with a highly individual perspective. He distorts the view, thereby producing a very surprising result. He teaches us to look again. His use of colour is clear and often impudent or daring.
